Lend Lease aquifered the land for the Howard Goverment in 2001 for only $17/square metre. As part of this deal they were supposed to build affordable housing and preserve the Cumberland Plains Woodlands.
The housing is not affordable and it has caused a steap increase in the prices of surrounding suburbs.
Local councils only gaurenteed the land free of contamination from the past Ammunitions industries for 50 years starting in 2001. The has been talk that DNT burried on the site in liquid form could cause health risks including birth defects in the future.
Lend Lease were supposed to create wildlife reserves and wildlife corridors which it did, however yesterday they got past council a application to build houses on a wildlife corridor surrounding Xavier Collage much to the disgust of the local residents.
Jordan Springs does not have good public transport nor the roads needed to support its ever increasing population.

Jordan Springs is newest suburb with a new feel around. Plenty of parks and two lakes built by Lend lease provide a good balanced development in the suburb. It is still in sydney city limits but the prices are far too lower compared to inner city. It is a good suburb with friendly population.
